Honda Motorcycles, Perfect For You

Honda Motorcycles, Perfect For YouAre you looking for a motorcycle but don't know what brand to trust in? Well, a Honda Motorcycle is probably the best choice for you. This bike will be dependable and all of your Honda motorcycle parts will last for years and years to come. In this trying economy, it is probably not the time to invest in a big diesel truck or a high maintenance car. Get a brand new motorcycle from the world's largest and most trusted motorcycle manufacturers, Honda.

Honda Motorcycles, Perfect For YouIn early 1949, Honda began producing high quality bikes. When it reached 2005, Honda already accumulated several manufacturing plants in more than twenty different countries and more than 150 million bikes were sold. As years went by, the quality of Honda bikes became better and better and the popularity of the brand rose to an all time high. The most popular and perhaps the greatest of all the Honda models is the Valkyrie.

Honda Motorcycles, Perfect For YouThe Honda Valkyrie is offered as a six cylinder, inline engine. Liquid cooling is provided within these models using a 1520cc boxer. Soon after its release in 1997, the Valkryie became Honda's best selling model. It was not designed as a V twin. Instead, Honda focused on power and used six different carburetors and set up the lining of the cylinders in opposite directions as opposed to at angles. But the smooth idle and awesome engine noises were not enough. In 2004, the final Valkyrie model, the "Rune" edition was released and sold. Unfortunately, due to their popularity only used Valkyries are available on the motorcycle market.

The Honda 125cc Motocross Bike

The Honda 125cc Motocross BikeHonda makes several designs for the motocross bike one of which is the motocross 125 style. Honda began its production of these bikes in the 60's. The Honda motorcycles come in an 85cc, a 125cc and a 250cc size of engine. It does have a few competitors in this market such as the Yamaha's version of their 125cc in the YZ and KTM models. The Honda CR125 has a single cylinder engine that is a two stroke design. It can cruise pretty good with its 41.5 horsepower engine. Like most motors in a vehicle it uses a liquid cooling system to maintain its good performance.

Some of the specifications for the 125 model are the torque and revolutions or rpms. The rpms run at 11000 with a torque of 20.6. It is definitely a powerful bike that is equal to its competitors models. It has a carburetor designed by Mikuni and holds 2 gallons of fuel in its tank. The makers at Honda continually try to design the bikes used for motocross purposes to be lighter in weight so they can move faster and maneuver better. One way they have accomplished this is through the use of an aluminum bike frame.

They have also incorporated some of today's high tech digital designs into the styles. This bike has an electronic starting system that employs the use of an electronic ignition. They have also found the use of heavy molded plastic parts an advantage in reducing the overall weight of their unit. These plastic pieces are used wherever it is feasible to place them in the structure of the frame and its components. The suspension of the 125cc model is constructed by Kayaba. It uses an inverted style of cartridge fork that has an 18 position rebound. This gives the unit an edge when going over rugged terrain.

Honda Motorcycle India Looks to Expand

Honda Motorcycle India Looks to ExpandHonda India plans to expand capacity to meet the company’s annual 20 percent increase in demand, a Honda official said today. However, he gave no details on the investment or the additional capacity.

We are doing an internal study on a second plant,” said Shinji Aoyama, president and chief executive of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt, which will reach its full capacity of 1.5 million units in 2010-2011.

“We cannot let our sales stagnate, we will take a decision soon,” said Naresh Kumar Rattan, marketing and sales head.

India is the world’s second-largest market for motorcycles and scooters, with annual sales of slightly over 8 million units. More than 15 million units are sold annually in China. Honda Motorcycle expects to sell 1.25 million scooters and bikes in the current fiscal year that ends in March, and 1.5 million units next year.

Last December, unlisted Honda Motorcycle made its entry in the popular 100cc bike segment, taking on Hero Honda in which Japan’s Honda has 26 percent and India’s Munjal family about 29 percent.

The company expects sales to rise 20 percent, powered by 110cc CB Twister bike, its first offering in this category that will compete with Hero Honda’s Passion and Splendor and Bajaj Auto’s Discover DTSi.

The 190 mpg machine was inspired by the Honda CB1000R in design, only powered by a 110 cc engine, delivering just 9 bhp. Tubeless tires, maintenance free battery, viscous air filter, short muffler and half chain are just a few attributes of Honda’s latest machine. The CB Twister is available in five colors, namely Yellow, Green, Black, Red and Blue.

Repsol Honda team wrap up Sepang test

Repsol Honda team wrap up Sepang testMaking full use of the two days of testing at the Sepang International Circuit on Thursday and Friday, Repsol Honda riders Andrea Dovizioso and Dani Pedrosa gained more of an idea of where their RC212V machines are ahead of the final pre-season test in Qatar.

Dovizioso was happy with his day’s work on Friday as he brought his time down by a further two-tenths of a second from the previous day, taking in 46 laps in the Malaysian heat as he completed a three-quarter race distance in the afternoon.

“If we consider the two days in total this second test session has represented a big step forward compared to the last time we came here at the beginning of February,” said Dovizioso, whose best lap time was 2’01.439. “I’m satisfied that we could lap consistently and for the race this is very important. We did a race simulation and the pace with race tyres was good.”

He continued: “Today I can’t be totally satisfied with seventh on the timesheets and this was because I wasn’t able to use the soft tyre at its best to improve the lap time. It’s something we’ll have to analyse because getting a good grid position for the race is important. Of course there is still work to do to get closer to Valentino and Casey, but anyway, all-in-all I’m very confident.”

Pedrosa, who completed 57 laps on Friday with a best time of 2’01.478, was just behind his team-mate on the timesheet as the eighth quickest rider and he outlined the aims for Qatar.

“We put in a lot of work today and tried many things on the machine to improve our pace,” said Pedrosa. “We made some progress with the feeling from the engine which is positive, though we didn’t really get the results we were looking for elsewhere, and some of the issues we had yesterday are still there. So, there’s plenty for us still to do before Qatar.”

He added: “The team is working really hard and we’re positive that there’s a lot more to come. Of course I can’t say that eighth is where I want to be on the timesheets at the end of this test, so we’ll definitely look to move things forward in Qatar.”

Official Repsol Honda team presentation in Madrid

Official Repsol Honda team presentation in MadridThe Repsol Honda Team held its official launch in Madrid, Spain on Saturday with the start of the 2010 MotoGP season just under one month away. Spanish rider Dani Pedrosa was the star of show held in front of 7000 fans at the Palacio de Deportes de la Comunidad de Madrid. The event was timed to coincide with the penultimate round of the FIM Indoor Trial World Championship at the same venue.

Appropriately, Pedrosa rode a trials bike onto the stage before a machine he is more familiar with – his Honda RC212V race bike – was dramatically lowered from the roof of the arena. Andrea Dovizioso, Pedrosa’s Repsol Honda team-mate was also due to attend the team launch but, having suffered from a fever over the last few days and with the final pre-season test taking place in Qatar this coming week, the Italian wisely elected to stay at home to speed his recovery. Dovizioso sent a special message to his fans from his home in Forli, Italy.

In 2010 the partnership between Repsol and Honda will enter its 16th season and it is an association which has made “Repsol Honda” one of the most recognisable team names in motorcycle racing history. Pedrosa and Dovizioso will be riding the latest evolution of Honda’s 800cc four-stroke RC212V race machine, which features a new chassis and swing-arm and an upgraded electronics package.

Dani Pedrosa: “To be here for the Repsol Honda Team launch and to see the support of all our fans is a great feeling. I’m feeling really motivated for the coming season and our targets are clear – to improve in every area and consistently fight for race wins. I’m starting this season in a really positive mood. In general it has been a very good winter for me and much better than the last one. I have been able to do a lot of physical training and work on my fitness levels. Also I was able to rest after the end of the last season and, even though I had a small operation to remove a screw from my wrist, the recovery period after this was very short and I can begin the year in very good shape. The training will help me a lot throughout the season to maintain my maximum performance.”

He continued: “At the last test in Sepang we couldn’t make all the progress we would have like to have done, but we still have two more days of testing ahead of us and we will take the maximum profit from them to prepare for the first race. In Qatar we will be working to improve a few more areas with the machine and I’m sure that when we solve these issues we will take a big step forward – and I hope to do it in Qatar. I’m looking forward to this season.”

Andrea Dovizioso: “I’m really sorry not to able to attend the Repsol Team Launch but unfortunately high fever and flu are keeping me in bed, and at this moment of the season with the Qatar test taking place next week, our priority is to be fit and ready for the last test of the winter. Our common goal is to be competitive from round one – we all want to see the Repsol Honda machines fighting at the front every Sunday.”

Dovizioso added: “We have all worked hard during the winter: Honda has improved all aspects of the package, and from our side we have been committed in training as well as giving direction to the development team. We know that it won’t be easy but we will give our best to fight with the fastest riders every race weekend. I’m very happy to be in the factory Repsol Honda Team for a second year.”

The Repsol Honda Team begins its assault on the MotoGP World Championship at the opening round of the season on April 11th at the Losail International Circuit in Qatar, and will be present at the final pre-season official test at the same circuit on Thursday 18th and Friday 19th of March.
